Sopchoppy 4th of July
The annual Sopchoppy 4th of July Celebration began in 1973. Every year since, the community of volunteers and the City of Sopchoppy have joined together and established our region’s best Independence Day Celebration. This year, 2024, Robert was asked to judge the parade alongside two other pillars of the community. Chrisyius Whitehead, lifelong resident of Sopchoppy and contestant on America’s Got Talent, even made an appearance! The winning floats were Wakulla Greenwing for Most Original, Wakulla School Board for Best Decorated, Wakulla Property Appraiser for Most Patriotic, and Bobby Darnell for Best Vintage Automobile.
Sopchoppy offers several family-friendly events throughout the year, we strongly encourage you to get out and enjoy the many benefits of being a part of this wonderful community.
Mashes Sands

During the harsh storms that came through this spring, the adirondack chairs at Mashes Sands Beach in Panacea were destroyed. Coast & Country Realty, LLC quickly took action to make sure that the chairs were replaced. Within a week, five new adirondack chairs were donated by Coast & Country Realty. Now Wakulla County residents along with tourist can enjoy the beauty of the Forgotten Coast while sitting back in a freshly built chair.
2024 Wakulla County 4-H Annual Hay Bale Contest

Coast & Country Realty, LLC was so excited to participate in this year’s Wakulla County 4-H Hay Bale Contest for the first time. Wakulla County 4-H “empowers youth to grow and reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults. Through 4-H, youth are growing into the future leaders of their communities, country and world. 4-H is a movement for positive change in every community in Wakulla County.” It is very important to our team to give back to our community, and supporting 4-H is a great way to do that.
Our team, Robert, Ashley, and Madison, along with their families, came together to try to honor the community, and what better way than with WORMS?? I mean, Sopchoppy is known for its worm grunting. If you’ve never heard of worm grunting, it is the process of attracting worms from the earth to harvest them for bait use. The skill is now very rare, but thankfully the community of Sopchoppy has passed the art down through generations to keep it alive. If you’ve never seen worm grunting, watch the video below, and make sure to visit Sopchoppy during its annual Worm Gruntin’ Festival the 2nd Saturday in April every year.
